Rainey Endowed is an ‘Eco-School’. This means that the school is taking steps towards becoming more environmentally friendly. The Eco-Committee consists of a group of students and members of the school community and is co-ordinated by Miss Cusack in the Geography Department. The Eco-Committee achieved the Silver Flag Award and is hoping to secure the college’s Green Flag Award soon.

The Eco-Committee completed an Environmental Review of the college and established three areas of focus; Waste, Energy and Litter. They created a competition for Key Stage 3 classes to create an Eco-Code for the college based upon these three areas. The overall winner was Katie Wilkinson 8A.

The Eco Team have been hard at work promoting a number of events in the school and we have just completed our events for Waste week and The Big Spring Clean. The images below show pupils enjoying the wide range of Eco Activities over the past few months.
