As your son/daughter nears the end of their final term at Rainey Endowed School, I am writing to outline the arrangements regarding applications for Student Finance for further and higher education. All U6 students were issued with the application form and information pack at the beginning of March.

It is very important that County Hall (Ballymena) receives the completed form with all the appropriate evidence by Friday 15 April 2016. This means you can be confident your son/daughter will receive your first payment at the start of term.

You should complete the Student Finance form if your son/daughter intends to study for one of the following courses:

• A full-time or sandwich course of higher education e.g. Degree/Masters/Foundation Degree
• A full-time Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course
• A Diploma or Degree course in a health related discipline
• A full-time or sandwich course of higher education at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE)

Your son/daughter can apply for the following student finance by completing this form:
• Tuition Fee Loan
• Maintenance Loan
• Maintenance Grant
• Bursaries and Scholarships
• Special Support Grant
• Adult Dependants’ Grant
• Travel Grant
• Disabled Students’ Allowances
You can find more detailed information on what is available and what you might be entitled to by visiting the website www.studentfinanceni.co.uk

In order to facilitate the application process, I have arranged for representatives from County Hall to come to the school on MONDAY 11 April between 9.15am and 11am. If you have any queries or require assistance with completing the form, you are welcome to come to the Study Centre between the above times to speak to the Student Finance staff.

Completed forms can be submitted on the day and the official documents required (student’s passport or birth certificate) verified, copied and returned, meaning these documents will not be tied up in the system for a number of weeks.

Yours faithfully
Mr C T McDonnell
