Examinations Update
On 19 March 2020, the Minister of Education, Peter Weir MLA, announced that the Summer 2020 examination series would be cancelled to help fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus and that grades would be based on a range of evidence and data, including prior attainment and centre estimated grades. Updated Exam Timetable
Due to the school closure because of weather conditions today, the internal exam timetable has been amended.
The GCSE results at Rainey Endowed are outstanding
The GCSE results at Rainey Endowed are outstanding. 21% of all passes were at A* grade and 62% at A*/A grade. 100% of all pupils achieved 7 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics.
The 2018 GCSE results at Rainey Endowed are outstanding
The GCSE results at Rainey Endowed are outstanding. 28% of all passes were at A* grade and 62% at A*/A grade. 100% of all pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics.
Over 60 pupils in the year group had at least 6A*/A grades.
Rainey Endowed pupils have excelled at ‘A’ Level examinations in 2018
We are delighted with our excellent results at ‘A’ Level – 42% of all our entries were at A*/A grades; 75% of all our entries were at A*-B and 95% of all entries were at A*-C and highlights the superb pastoral care and learning and teaching at ‘The Rainey’.
AS Level results at Rainey Endowed School were excellent
Our pupils have built upon their prior success at GCSE in 2017 and we commend them for their hard work and success. These are the best AS results for Rainey Endowed School pupils over the past number of years.
Internal Examination Rules
All pupils: It is your responsibility to:
- Fully prepare/revise for your examinations.
- Ensure you know your timetable and be in the examination room promptly for the start of each session.
- Sit in your allocated seat for the duration of the examinations.
- Not to bring food into the examination room. Water may be consumed provided it is in a clear plastic bottle [labels removed].
- Use the toilet, if required, before the session begins and not during a revision period or whilst the examination is in progress as this is disruptive to others.
- Leave your school bag outside the Sports Hall or in the bag room
- NOT bring a mobile phone/smart watch or other electronic device into the examination room.
- Place other watches on the table in front of you.
- NOT to talk during the examination or communicate with another pupil in any way.
- Follow the instructions of the invigilator at all times.
- Read carefully and follow the instructions on each examination paper.
- To bring with you all necessary equipment for the examination [e.g. black pens/pencils/rubber/ruler/calculator etc.] remembering that pencil cases should be transparent
- Use BLACK ball point pen unless the examination requires otherwise.
- Use the full time allocated for each examination.
- Check you have fully answered all questions if you finish before the end of the exam
- Bring revision material for periods when you have no examinations.
- Make school aware if you are to be absent for an examination by contacting the school office prior to the examination.
Any form of cheating detected during the examinations will have serious consequences for all those involved. Such acts not only break accepted rules but go against the ethos and values of the Rainey.

Rainey Endowed pupils have excelled at ‘A’ Level examinations in 2016
We are delighted with our excellent results at ‘A’ Level – 43% of all our entries were at A*/A grades and 95% of all entries were at A*-C and highlights the superb pastoral care and learning and teaching at ‘The Rainey’. All our staff and governors offer our congratulations and wish our students continued future success. The demanding nature of our society for achievement and success is met squarely and directly by all those from Rainey Endowed School. We are particularly pleased with the depth of quality shown by our pupils. We look forward to these AS results being substantiated into full ‘A’ Levels next year, opening the prospects of our pupils for years to come.
