Music Workshops for P6 & P7 Pupils

For two weeks in November a group of seven enthusiastic A level music students volunteered to participate in four fun-filled music workshops for Primary 6 and 7 pupils from Castledawson and New Row Primary Schools. During the course of the four workshops, we taught the children the basic elements of music – pitch, rhythm dynamics, pulse and texture. We taught these musical elements through powerpoint and of course one or two fun games!

The pupils were also given the opportunity of trying out a variety of percussion instruments. On behalf of all the pupils involved, we would like to thank the pupils from New Row and Castledawson for their exemplary behaviour and effort. Thanks must also go to Mrs Glenn, Miss Given and Mrs Francis for all their help and guidance during the course of this event.
