Paired Reading Programme

On 21st October two students along with Mrs McMullan, attended a Paired Reading Workshop facilitated by Learn Spark as a part of the Mid Ulster Community Planning Schools Together Initiative.
The workshop was held in the Bridewell, Magherafelt and saw the five local secondary schools coming together to learn about paired reading.

Paired reading is when pupils (known as mentors) work with other pupils (known as mentees) to help them improve their reading and understanding of what is being read. The aim is to increase a menteeā€™s interest and ability to read for enjoyment and to gain better access to their subjects across the curriculum, improving their outcomes.
