Guinness Pro 12 Trophy visits Rainey
On Saturday the final of the Guinness Pro 12 was played at the Kingsspan Stadium in Belfast. Unfortunately, Ulster lost out to Glasgow in the semi-final stage meaning the final was contested by Glasgow and Munster. Spec-savers, who are also sponsors of the tournament (ironically they sponsor the referees) brought the trophy to Rainey.
Pupils in Forms 1 and 2 got the opportunity to have their photographs taken with the trophy and it generated a lot of excitement among both the boys and the girls. Brian O’Kane, manager of the Spec-savers store in Magherafelt accompanied the trophy on its visit.
