UCAS PHASE 1 Information Event for Year 13 Pupils and Parents/Guardian

ucasDear Parents/Guardians and Year 13 Pupils

RE: Phase 1 UCAS applications

The first UCAS deadline for medical, veterinary and dentistry degrees, together with applications to both Oxford and Cambridge (called Phase 1 entry), is officially 15th October 2015. With this in mind, I am holding an information event for pupils considering a Phase 1 application ONLY and their parents on

Monday 22 June, 5pm – 6pm in the Study Centre.

During this event I will provide some details about the Phase 1 application process e.g. course research, what to include in the Personal Statement, aptitude tests, interview preparation etc. and aim to address any questions that you may have. I also hope to have 2 past pupils in attendance for an informal Q & A regarding the early entry process.

If you wish to attend this event, please confirm your intention to do so by emailing me at cmcdonnell727@c2kni.net  by Friday 19 June.

RE: Post-18 Careers Options

In September, following the AS examinations and results, I will hold a Post-18 Options evening for ALL parents of what will then be Year 14 pupils. The purpose of this event will be to brief you on Post-18 Options, the UCAS and CAO application systems, to provide student finance information and to outline the process by which the universities and colleges make their selection. The date for this event is Thursday 24 September, 2015 ( at 7pm in the Study Centre). This evening should be of real benefit to you in supporting your son or daughter through one of the most important years of their educational life.  I will issue a reminder to you in early September regarding this event.

Below you will also find information from UCAS about what they do for parents. I can thoroughly recommend their website to you.
