Following the U16 Interprovincial Tournament held last weekend in Cork, Irish Coach, Alison McNeill has selected a large training squad.
Speaking about her selection McNeill said ‘I thoroughly enjoyed the Interpros in Cork watching very competitive matches. It’s a strong group this year and we are looking forward to the trials in November and the coming year ahead”
Ulster Hockey’s U16 and U18 teams returned from their final competitive event of their respective seasons following the completion of Hockey Ireland’s U16 and U18 Female Inter Provincial series at the weekend. It proved a successful tournament for Ulster U16s as they became the first Ulster U16 group since 2013 to win the event while the U18s had to be content with a third placed finish.

The Under 16 Irish Girls Hockey coach, Alison McNeill, has announced her panel for a 6 Nations Tournament in Belgium. Speaking about the squad and upcoming tournament McNeill said “We would like to thank all the players for their commitment and effort at all sessions. The following players have been selected to play in a 6 Nations tournament in Belgium. We are looking forward to some highly competitive matches against Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain and England”.
The Rainey Endowed is delighted to announce that for the first time ever, the school has had two players selected for an Irish Hockey Team. This is a fantastic achievement for both girls, Erin Anderson and Betty Scott. The school is very proud of their achievements and wishes them every success in Belgium.
Many congratulations to Alex Burns and Lauren Mulholland, of Rainey Endowed School, who have been selected for an Ulster U18 Hockey Team. Lauren also has the honour of been selected as co-captain of this team. The girls will play for Ulster in a 3 match series against Wales in Cardiff in the period 24 to 26 June 2016.
Following the first phase of the U16 Female Programme for season 2016-17 we are delighted to congratulate Erin Anderson, of Rainey Endowed School, who has been selected to play in a 3 match series against Scotland, at the National Hockey Stadium in Glasgow, in the period 17 to 19 June 2016.
Ellie Montgomery –also of Rainey Endowed, was also selected for this team but was not available for selection as she is off to Spain at that time on the school Form 3 Water Sports Trip.

Many congratulations to Alex Burns, Lauren Mulholland and Betty Scott of Rainey Endowed School who have been selected for the Ulster U17 Hockey Team to take part in a training camp in Lilleshall, England. The girls will travel on Friday 29 April and return on Monday 2 May 2016. The camp includes two games against the English U16 Girls Team and two games against the Scottish U16 Girls. The Rainey School wishes the girls every success.
