Congratulations Rainey Junior Hockey team


Congratulations Rainey Junior Hockey team who have made it 2/2 to reach the Ulster Cup final with a 2-1 win in silver goal vs Killicomaine Junior High in the semi-final. Goal scorers Jenna Brown & Gabi Scott.

Thank you to Killicomaine JH for the tough match, Royal School Dungannon for the use of their pitch and facilities and all our parents, friends and loyal supporters who stood out on a chilly afternoon.

Rainey girls blast their way through to Belfast Telegraph Schools’ Cup final. 🏑

 

Huge congratulations to our 1STXI hockey Team who have reached the final of the Belfast Telegraph Schools Cup for only the 3rd time in the schools history.
The girls played very well to produce a 2-0 win against Friends Schools in the semi final , with goals from
Lauren Mulholland and Andrea Hegarty. The girls will now face the holders of the Schools Cup and the All Ireland Kate Russel Trophy -Banbrdge Academy on 7 March @ 2.00pm at Playball, Stormont.

Congratulations to Alex Burns, of Rainey Endowed School, who after a series of U18 Irish trials in Dublin has been selected by Head Coach Gareth Grundie, to attend the next phase of the Ireland U18 programme.

 

The Irish U18 squad are training for the U18 European Championships in Santander, Spain, in July 2018.
The Team will play a series of tests before then against France, England, Belgium and Scotland in preparation for the tournament. Alex will attend regional training in Belfast on a weekly basis and national training in Dublin.
Well done Alex.

After a series of trials in Dublin newly appointed U16 Irish girls coach Brendon Carolan has announced the players for the Ireland U16 Squad.

 

Many congratulations to Charlotte Beggs, of Rainey Endowed School, who is delighted to be included in this selection.
Commenting, Carolan said “As an initial entry point into the Ireland women’s hockey programme, our aim is to create a long term pathway. A pathway to facilitate conditioning, technical athlete development and ultimately provide these athletes with every chance to make the Senior women’s programme in years to come.
I look forward to working with the future of Ireland women’s hockey.

 

Charlotte will attend national training sessions in Dublin as the squad trains to prepare for a 4 Nations Tournament in Germany, tests against Scotland in July and a 6 Nations Tournament hosted in Belfast in July.
Well done Charlotte.

Huge congratulations to Rainey girls Alex Burns, Charlotte Beggs, Alexandra McKinlay and Betty Scott on a hugely successful weekend at the U16 and U18 hockey Interpros. Alexandra and Charlotte earned their first Ulster caps with the U16 Ulster Team and finished on a high today with a 6-0 win over Connaught. Alex and Betty were part of the Ulster U18 Team who were outright winners of the U18 Interpros! Really well done girls!

The Ulster U16 Girls squad has been announced ahead of the U16 Interprovincial Tournament in Belfast (NICS) from the 20th to 22nd October 2017.
Many congratulations to Rainey girls Charlotte Beggs and Alexandra McKinlay who have been selected to represent Ulster at the Interprovincial Series.
Joel Cathcart is the coach and Mrs. Burns will assist along with Alex Speers and also manage the team. The Rainey would like to wish the girls and the whole team the best of luck!
