Mr Robinson Receives MBE

Mr Robinson, our former headmaster, attended an investiture in Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 23rd May to receive the MBE. The award, for services to education, was presented by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne.
Mr Robinson reported that the Princess asked in particular about the collaboration between schools in the Magherafelt area, organised as the Magherafelt Learning Partnership, the importance of education to all and some very specific questions about A level Modern Language teaching, which the ex-science teacher struggled with!
Mr Robinson was accompanied by his wife Sharon, son Stewart and daughter Anna. He described how honoured he was to have been awarded the MBE at this stage of his career and how much it is also a reflection of the work of the team of people from Rainey Endowed School.
