Today was our last morning at the Kumi Hotel. We got our usual Ugandan cornflakes for breakfast, packed our stuff, waved goodbye to our suitcases and Alex the turkey. We set off on an 8 hour journey to Heritage Safari Lodge.
The ionic ugandan ‘speed ramps’ became a fimilar friend, with many sights to be seen along the way. We stopped for our packed lunch complementary of the kumi hotel.
After lunch we were back on the road heading for our Safari. The journey was long and bumpy, and as our bus driver says, “a great massage”. With many stops on the way spotting baboon, antelope, elephants and giraffes we finally made it.
We were happily greeted by the staff of The Heritage Safari Lodge, where they were kindly awaiting our arrival, offering us some fruit juice.
We settled in and excitedly explored the area, heading down to the edge of the River Nile and immediately managed to spot some hippos and crocodiles on our wee dander.
Faces lit up when dinner appeared, some say we ate like kings and queens. Our 3 course meal certainly went down a treat, and it’s safe to say we’re already excited for our next meal at The Heritage Safari Lodge!
Another great day on our trip, with a 5am wake up call for our first game drive tomorrow!
