To help and support Year 13 and 14 students across the academic year, The Domestic Recruitment & Events (DRE) team at Queen’s University have developed a series of live and on demand virtual events which are aimed at providing students with the knowledge, understanding, confidence and skills required to make informed choices and plans for their future learning and career. A series of on demand virtual sessions are available to watch now. These include step by step guides on Why Choose Queen’s University, Applying through UCAS Extra, Changed your mind about your UCAS course replies? and Applying for Student Finance. Upcoming live events include Mental Health and Wellbeing, Applying for Queen’s Accommodation, Live Student Panels and Moving to Queen’s: A Guide for New Students. We will also be hosting a dedicated Parent’s Offer Holder Information Evening for parents with a son &/or daughter scheduled to commence their studies at Queen’s in September 2021.

You may register to attend multiple events.  All the virtual events will be recorded and will be available to watch on demand after each session should you wish to use any of the material. Virtual Open Day

Usually at this time of year, Ulster University and QUB run their open days in order to supply prospective students with as much information about subjects, the Universities and the student experience as possible.  Due to current covid restrictions they are now running the following virtual open days:

 

Ulster University Saturday 5th September – 10am-2pm

QUB 10th-12th September 12pm-6pm.  Please see schedule here.

Aberdeen University Talk

 

 

Rainey Endowed School wishes to thank Professor Roddy Paisley, Dr Adeline Wilson and Dr Robert Taylor, who gave a very insightful talk into how to apply to university in Aberdeen, student life and in completing the personal statement. Year 10 Languages Careers Event

Year 10 pupils at Rainey were inspired today by our visiting speakers from NICILT (QUB), Europe direct and British Airways who, through a variety of activities demonstrated the range of careers options facilitated by the study of more than one foreign language to GCSE level and beyond.
