Congratulations Mrs Hamilton

We are delighted to learn of the recognition given to another past pupil and former teacher, Mrs Margaret Hamilton.

Mrs Hamilton has been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the community in Cookstown in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Mrs Hamilton, the Rainey family is so proud of you!

Congratulations Elizabeth Ferris

We could not be more proud of our past pupil Elizabeth Ferris, who has just been awarded the British Empire Medal for Services to Disability Sport in the Queens Birthday Honour’s list. Since leaving the Rainey in 2003 Elizabeth suffered spinal cord injury. However, this has not held Elizabeth back. She graduated as a Doctor in 2017 and is the founder of Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club. Last month she received a Special Recognition Award from Scottish Disability Sport for Services to Disability Sport in Scotland. Well done Elizabeth! The Rainey family is so proud of you!

‘CALLING ALL FORMER PUPILS! WE ARE RECRUITING FOR THE RAINEY ENDOWED FORMER PUPILS ASSOCIATION CHOIR!

‘CALLING ALL FORMER PUPILS! WE ARE RECRUITING FOR THE RAINEY ENDOWED FORMER PUPILS ASSOCIATION CHOIR!

Following the success of the Tercentenary concert in September of last year, it has been suggested by the Rainey Former Pupils Association that we maintain our connections and reform again for a Spring Concert in 2016! We all shared a special musical togetherness, friendship and craic that I’m sure we’d all love to rekindle. If you were not previously involved in our tercentenary choir but would like to get involved this time you would be most welcome! Perhaps you were in Sixth Form during our Opera House concert and have now left school? We would love to have you in our choir! Rehearsals are planned to commence weekly after Christmas, with alternating weekend rehearsals to accommodate students. Our 2 new directors will be former pupil and Music graduate Rebecca Murphy, along with previous Music teacher/former pupil Sam Murray. If you know of a former pupil who is not on facebook but would be interested in joining, feel free to bring them along also.
