The IRFU nutrition department has launched a sports nutrition e-learning programme for young rugby players aged 15-18 year. Players can access the resource at www.irishrugby.ie/nutrition .

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
This free resource:

o   is specifically designed for male rugby players between the ages of 15-18 years of age

o   will help young players to maximise their performance in training and games

o   features unique content generated by Ireland’s rugby stars – Paul O’Connell, Robbie Henshaw, Conor Murray, Rob Kearney, Cian Healy, Tommy Bowe and Andrew Trimble

o   contains 10 modules with a test element at the end of each module

o   covers the following topics: Protein, Carbohydrates, Calories, Weight, Hydration, Pre-match Day Nutrition, Match-Day Nutrition, immunity, Supplements, Off-Season Nutrition

The IRFU encourage all Rainey Rugby  players to complete the e-learning programme as the knowledge will positively impact on their performance if adopted into their regular daily lives.  The recommended interaction with the programme to maximise retention of information is 3 sessions covering 3-4 modules per session.
