Rainey ES U12s win away to Carrick
On Friday 11th December 3 Rainey ES U12 teams travelled to play Carrickfergus Grammar School. All 3 teams put in great performances to register 2 wins and a draw. The ‘A’ team won 30-10 with Jake McConnell and Matthew Thom both scoring 3 tries. The ‘B’ team really dominated the Carrick boys beating them 90-25. Dylan Wison showed super pace on the win running in 8 tries. The other try scorers were Brian McKenna (3), Jonnie Boyle (3), Jacob Bell, Lee McGuckin, Tyler McGuckin, James Campbell and Lewis Francis. The ‘C’ team were involved in an extremely open game, which Carrick scored in the final minute to get a 70-70 draw. The try scorers were Jack Fenton (5), Samuel Ballantine (4), Matthew McCracken (3) and James Cuskeran (2). Well done to all the U12 players.
All other school games fell foul to the terrible weather conditions on Saturday morning.
On Monday the ‘Quinn’s Coach Hire’ sponsored 2nd XV travelled to Belfast HS to play in Round 1 of the Danske Bank 2nd XV Plate. This was a game everyone within the squad was confident of winning but unfortunately the team probably put in their most disappointing game of the season losing 11-5. Adam Thornton was the Rainey try scorer.
This Saturday’s fixtures are against Sullivan Upper. The 1st and 2nd XV are away. The Medallion, U14s and U13s are at home with 10am kick offs. All support welcome.
