Rainey Primary 6 Girls Soccer Tournament

Recently the Rainey Endowed Upper Sixth pupils hosted seven of the local Primary Schools for a girls’ soccer tournament.
Teams of eight from Magherafelt, Spires, Anahorish, Knocklougrim, Kilross, Woods and Moneymore Primary all gathered with their teachers to begin the tournament.

Rainey Upper and Lower Sixth Sports Science students took charge and soon boots and shin guards were on and ready for the soccer matches to begin.
The children enjoyed some great matches with their leaders, before stopping for a lunch break. After lunch, the final kicked off between Anahorish and Woods. With both teams giving it their best effort, the close atmosphere and ambience lead to a reciprocating score line. 1-0 to Anahorish.

Thanks to Graeme Eastwood for providing a concluding speech at the rewards ceremony and presenting the medals. All the participants received a medal but only Anahorish left with the trophy. Many thanks also to Sean Henry from the Mid Ulster Council for all his help and support. Everybody enjoyed a fun filled day full of soccer matches. Many thanks to all Primary Schools who attended.
