Artwork Unveiled

It is with enormous pride and gratitude that today we unveiled artwork commemorating one hundred years of the armistice of the World War One. Created by thirteen year 10 pupils with the guidance and inspiration of local textile artist Andrea Hayes, these pupils set about to create a piece that will be displayed in school to remember those brave pupils who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War.

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with new medias and techniques across a 2 day workshop with Andrea. They used these new skills to help illustrate their current unit in history and understanding the personal stories of past pupils who went to war.

The art and history departments would like to thank Andrea for her expert guidance and congratulate the following pupils for creating such a beautiful and poignant piece of work.
