European Day of Languages
On Wednesday 23rd September, to celebrate European day of languages, three local primary schools (Spires, Holy Family and Magherafelt Primary School) came to the Rainey in order to learn some French.
Our keen lower and upper sixth French pupils organised three sessions, in which the pupils were taught basic greetings, animals and pets and also the numbers 1-15. This was composed of worksheets, interactive activities and also games to lighten the mood! This included bingo, word searches and animal snap. To finish each session the pupils made a poster to summarise everything they had learnt while they were treated to some chocolate brioche and orange squash. At the end of the session all the children received a certificate to congratulate them on what they had learnt. It was an enjoyable day for primary school and Rainey pupils alike. Everyone had lots of fun and we would like say a big thanks to Mrs Crawford and Mrs Service for organising this event and to all the primary schools for participating. So Merci, Gracias, Danke, Grazie, Obrigado, Multumesc, Diolch yn fawr and Thank you.
