Magherafelt’s First Drive In Movie
Meadow Bank Sports Arena was the venue for Magherafelt’s first Drive in Movie experience on Saturday 21 November. Over 160 adults and children packed into 50 plus cars that turned up to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on the big air screen which was over 6 metres high. The crisp clear weather was ideal for the event, which seemed to stir the imagination of all who attended. Most of the audience had never attended a drive in movie, so once the practical applications of tuning in car radios to hear the film were sorted out everyone settled down for a great night’s entertainment!
Food was provided by Sizzlers external catering, deliveries to the cars were undertaken by some of the Rainey rugby players. Joint Chair of the Rainey Rugby Fund Raising Committee Alistair Mc Gowan commented “The feedback from all those who came along to support the event has been very positive. I would like to thank not just those who attended but Paul Clarke and the Sizzlers catering staff, the food was outstanding! Also Mid Ulster Council for allowing us to stage this event at Meadowbank. Hopefully we will have another Drive in Movie night in the future”
Rainey Rugby would also like to thank Alistair McGowan, Tracey Lupari, Helen Hall and all other member of the fund-raising committee for their hard work and time.
