Twelve Rainey Pupils among CCEA Top Candidates

 

 

We are delighted to learn that in the 2019 summer GCSE and A-Level examinations Rainey Pupils not only achieved the highest possible grades but some also gained the highest individual marks in Northern Ireland.

This year we had an outstanding 12 CCEA Top Candidate placings with 6 students placing first in their subject overall.
This is a record for Rainey Endowed and we are rightly extremely proud of their achievements.

We are delighted with our excellent results at ‘A’ Level – 51% of all our entries were at A*/A grades; 82% of all our entries were at A*-B and 97% of all entries were at A*-C and highlights the superb pastoral care and learning and teaching at ‘The Rainey’. We are particularly pleased with the depth of quality shown by our pupils. Prize Distribution 2018

 

 

On Thursday 20 September 2018 Rainey Endowed held its annual Prize Distribution. We were thrilled to have past pupil Mrs Lesley-Anne Vaughan (née McLean) as our guest speaker. Mrs Vaughan entertained us with many stories from her work in Kenya as a software developer for Vodafone and spoke of how the pace of Technology continually offers us new challenges and opportunities.

Alana awarded the BNF (British Nutritional Foundation) Drummond Education Award

 

 

Alana Atkinson (L6th) was awarded the BNF (British Nutritional Foundation) Drummond Education Award for CCEA GCSE Home Economics, achieving the highest mark in the coursework element of her exam. Alanna accompanied by her mother Mrs Isobel Atkinson, attended the awards ceremony on the 14th November in London hosted by The Royal College of Physicians.

Prize Distribution 2017

On Thursday 21st September Rainey held their annual prize night. We were thrilled to have past pupil Jeffrey Gilbert as our speaker. He entertained us with many stories from his work in epidemiology, in such far flung places as Afghanistan and Sierra Leone. Rainey pupils really do travel far!

We would like to congratulate Rachel Burns and Megan Campbell. Rachel achieved 2nd in Technology & Design and Megan 2nd highest marks in Religious Studies. Both girls recently received their certificates recognising their achievement from the examination body, CCEA.
